DAN SKIBRA AKA HUNGRY EYE + MAD AT THE WORLD RECORDS AKA OMEGAS

1-Five songs you can't get out of your head right now?

Dan:

"In terms of a playlist..."

Cheap Tragedies- Ain't Dead Yet

Donna Summers- Bad Girls

Rest in Pieces- Keep Your Distance

Modern Jazz Quartet- Concorde (whole album)

Secret Society of the Sonic Six- 9:00

"Though right at this moment, I literally can't get the Revolting

Cocks' version of "Do ya think I'm sexy" out of my head."

2-Last film you watched and actually liked?

Dan: "I don't watch many movies. Recently watched Christiane F. Can't say I

"liked" it but Bowie was in it, so it was cool.

I saw and liked Slumdog Millionaire. Don't know what that says about

me."

3-Book you are reading?

Dan: "Stephen Stapleton- Kant's Transcendental Arguments; Disciplining Pure

Reason. For review for a journal."

4-Visual artist/writer/music/film you feel inspired by right now?

Dan : "Kafka's short stories are always good for a burst of inspiration."

5-First record/cassette tape you ever bought?

Dan: "Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits Volume 2"

6-Record labels you miss?

Dan: "Oy, I don't know about that one."

7-What are you working on right now?

Dan: "Working with Matt Sims on his current awesome releases, the debut

Cheap Tragedies LP, and the latest Holy Kiss LP.

In terms of my own stuff, my punk band Omegas are about to go into the

studio."

8-Bands/musicians you wish would get back together and not put out a crappy new record?

Dan: "Doesn't exactly answer your question, but it would have been cool to

get a second Germs record.... though maybe not."

9-Musician who died that you wish you could bring back from the grave?

Dan: "Mick Ronson. Are these conditions tied to bringing people back? I

don't know how I'd like being the broker of folks' resurrection."

10-Favorite song lyrics?

Dan: "Bad Brains: "We will not do what they want nor do what they say. Oh no."

Sums it up about right."

11-Favorite poets?

Dan: "I'm more of a prose man, myself, though I can hang with Mallarme,

Baudelaire, Beckett. I won't lie and say we "hang" often, though."

MT. SIMS FORMERLY MOUNT SIMS NEW MUSIC VIDEO "GRAVE"

"Mt. Sims and Hungry Eye Records just released a  new music video for the staggering song "Grave," which you can find on the albums Happily Ever After as well as on the A Grave EP. It was filmed in the abandoned Spreepark in Berlin (October 2008). Directed by Bart Grieb and Matt Sims' long-time collaborator Echo Danon.
Mt. Sims returns to form after relocating from LA to Berlin with his eagerly anticipated third full length. Now with a new moniker-- "Mt. Sims" replacing "Mount Sims"-- and a full band with Randy Twigg and Andre Lange, Mt. Sims drops 12 new songs that bristle with nervous energy. Merging his signature electronic style with stark post-punk textures as first unveiled on his second album Wild LightHappily Ever After's songs showcase the new band's versatility. From the cabaret rave-up of "Playing for Keeps" to the melodramatic dirge of "Love's Revenge" and the raging death-disco of "the Bitten Bite Back", the band is flanked by guest appearances of Jessie Evans(Vanishing/ Autonervous) and Toby Dammit (Swans, Iggy Pop). To the delight of his followers, Mt. Sims strays far from the formula of "How We Do", as proved by the earlier release of a single for "Grave" on 12" format.
Crisp production work done by Thomas Stern of Crime and the City Solution..."

Thank you Iain!

One of my favorite bands from "Chain Reaction" through "Love By the Seasons!"

"APB formed in 1979 in the small rural town of Ellon, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Ignoring their remote location the band took inspiration from the punk do it yourself ethic of the burgeoning independent music scene. With a hard-working approach to writing, rehearsing and performing, George Cheyne (drums), Glenn Roberts (guitar) and Iain Slater (bass, vocals) became an exciting young band..." And it just gets better and better!
Young American Recordings re released a 20th anniversary edition of "Something To Believe In" with a 2nd disc of previously unreleased live tracks and studio recordings. In March 2006 Young American also released the complete BBC sessions cd, which features all the John Peel sessions from the early 80s.
Having reformed in 2006 and following their return to the New York metro area apb now release 'Three' a new 14 track cd on their own Red River Records."
